Sustainability Coordinator

As a Sustainability Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in integrating sustainable practices into our workplace design projects. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our designs align with environmental and social sustainability goals, helping us minimize our ecological footprint and enhance the well-being of our communities. You will collaborate with various teams, stakeholders, and clients to implement sustainable strategies, track progress, and promote sustainable practices within the company.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement sustainable design strategies, policies, and initiatives for workplace design projects.
  2. Collaborate with internal teams, including architects, designers, engineers, and project managers, to integrate sustainable practices into all stages of the design process.
  3. Conduct research to identify innovative and eco-friendly materials, technologies, and techniques that align with sustainability goals.
  4. Advise project teams on sustainable design principles, energy efficiency, waste management, and water conservation.
  5. Ensure compliance with relevant sustainability standards, certifications, and regulations.
  6. Collaborate with clients to understand their sustainability objectives and incorporate them into the design process.
  7. Track and evaluate project performance against sustainability goals and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.
  8. Organize and deliver sustainability training programs to employees, promoting awareness and engagement in sustainable practices.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in sustainability, and recommend relevant improvements for the company.
  10. Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote the company’s sustainable initiatives and achievements.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, environmental science, architecture, engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree would be advantageous.
  2. Proven experience in sustainability coordination, preferably within the design or construction industry.
  3. Strong knowledge of sustainable design principles, green building standards (e.g., LEED, BREEAM), and environmental regulations.
  4. Familiarity with sustainable materials, technologies, and practices relevant to workplace design.
  5. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate environmental impacts.
  7. Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  8. Proficiency in using sustainability assessment tools and software.
  9. Passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive environmental change.
