Furniture Sales Support. £30k-£35k. London.


Our client is a commercial contract furniture consultancy, the turnover is £30million TO. There job role has both an ‘internal’ and ‘external’ focus, with four distinct areas of responsibility:

  • Supporting the team
  • Client facing
  • Supplier relationships
  • Administration

Sales Support (general duties)

– To be responsible for quality control of all presentations and quotations ensuring that the house style is adhered to.

– To be familiar with the company clients in particular our Key clients.

– To answer all incoming phone calls and to record information accurately and relay to the relevant person.

– In the absence of the sales person to resolve all incoming client enquiries  and to qualify all incoming leads at point of call

– To provide admin support to the sales team in the form of quotations and presentations liaising with all relevant suppliers to collate material.

– To provide Marketing with assistance in maintaining the upkeep of product boards and products detailed on the Website

– Liaising with members of staff in other departments to resolve client issues

– To perform office management duties

– To attend sales meetings and sales events with team.

– To attend a weekly workflow meeting with Sales Director

Client Facing ( Major Projects )

– Responsible for attending designated and appropriate project meetings and for producing the minutes / action points

– Responsible for ensuring that all project meeting minutes / action points are issued to all relevant parties (internal & external) and when required action points are followed up to ensure their successful completion

– Responsible for organising and attending showroom visits and product demonstrations

– Responsible for providing a consistent and constant point of contact for the designated client

– Responsible for providing support and assistance for the client in the absence of the Project Director

Client Facing – Sales 

– To manage the sales enquiries of small end users or clients at the request of the Sales Director

– To be familiar with the company clients in particular our Key clients.

Supplier Relationships   ( Major Projects ) 

– Responsible for communicating a consistent and positive message regarding the project at all times (maximising the PR opportunities from our clients involvement)

– Responsible for providing clear, concise, detailed and accurate briefs to suppliers

– Responsible for co-ordinating supplier activity, including:

– Quotation Requests

– Progress reports and feedback

– Day to day communication on all activities such as ‘mock up’s’

– Showroom visits

– Product demonstrations

– Seating trials and “mock up’s”

– Responsible for the on-going and frequent communication with the Project Director  to ensure that the team is kept up to date with supplier developments at all times

Supplier Relationships   ( Day to day ) 

– To maintain a positive and friendly attitude to our suppliers

– To attend all supplier training sessions.

– To maintain current issues of company price lists on the serva .

– To maintain the product matrix and corresponding image bank.

Administration ( Major Project )

– Responsible for maintaining the electronic and hard copy filing

– Responsible for producing and managing the project flow chart, actively highlighting issues and potential problems well in advance

– Responsible for producing and maintaining budget plan to latest plan release

– Responsible for conducting all ‘call off’s’

– Responsible for the production of all presentations and documents.

– Responsible for completing all supplier orders accurately (aim is for 100% accuracy when completing supplier orders)

– Responsible for chasing orders through the system to ensure that products are on site by given dates, to highlight to the project director and project manager potential and real issues relating to delivery.

– Responsible for providing the client with all required written communication

– Responsible for booking meeting rooms and areas of work on behalf of the project team

– Responsible for co-ordinating and facilitating internal project meetings, for producing the minutes / action points that arise from the meeting, for distributing the minutes / action points to all relevant internal staff and for chasing up outstanding action points to ensure their successful completion

– Responsible for ensuring effective and on-going project communication is in place for all project team members

Administration ( Day to day )

– Maintaining office systems and house style

– To set up standard templates for all presentations

– To be responsible for the maintenance for the company tender response file

– Production of newsletters and email shots

– To maintain and update websites and internal databases

– Ordering and maintaining stationery and equipment supplies;

– Organising and storing paperwork, documents and computer-based information.

– Managing the delivery and returns of trial items such as task chairs.
